This weekend marks the 1 year anniversary of my Google Innovator experience in New York. There, I set out to address a problem in education: an increase in students using social media and the lack of mentorship in school in this area. It is where I learned lots, laughed lots and met an incredible group of passionate educators tackling problems in education.

When I left New York City, the plan was to create a Digital Leaders’s Playbook for students. While my project hasn’t necessarily gone as planned, I pivoted and collaborated with Adam Hill, an educator from Hong Kong, and the co-founder of Media By Example. Our goal was to support teachers to use social media strategically and intentionally to empower students to be digital leaders and to make a positive difference in the world. We created a FREE Empowered Digital Leaders online course which ran for four weeks in the summer. The power of the course was the diverse group of educators from around the world.

I am excited to announce that we have opened registration for the FREE Empowered Digital Leaders online course with a brand new cohort of educators!
The course launches on October 10th and run for four weeks.

Spaces are quite limited as we had promised to give early bird access to educators on the waiting list. Sign up on the  Empowered Digital Leaders Site

Check out with a few of the participants from the first cohort had to say or check out the #EmpoweredDigitalLeaders hashtag on Twitter or Instagram.

Hope to see some of you there!
