I consider myself an educator who is truly connected. I have spoken at length about how Twitter has transformed by practice and how I have met educators on Twitter (and Voxer) who have become some of my closest friends; they challenge me, support me, and make me a better educator.
When Adam Hill and I started the Empowered Digital Leaders course last week, I could have never imagined that I would meet a whole new crew of people who would inspire me and challenge my thinking. What is most astounding to me is that they are from all over the globe: literally. We decided to have a synchronous session and had to have two because of time zones. Although the 4 am ET one was not pretty, the conversations at both our Zoom sessions were very rich.
There are a couple who are already a part of my professional/personal learning network (PLN) , and a whole bunch of people I am only just meeting for the first time. Where have these people been all my life? Here is a Twitter list of folks you will want to follow.
And here is a link to my newly updated page, Twitter: Getting Connected in case you are new to Twitter for education.
And if you are thinking of jumping into Instagram for EDU, check out this week’s podcast with Trevor Mackenzie who uses his Instagram for podcasting and Inquiry provocations.
Stay well.
